We are very pleased to welcome your dog as our guest to The Queenscliff Hotel. This document serves to inform you of the hotel guidelines to have in mind during your stay.
We welcome all dogs that are trained, well-behaved, calm, non-aggressive, travel-savvy and accompanied by their owner. We don’t discriminate on breed or size, but we reserve the right to not accept dogs and request their departure from the facilities if they present themselves with behaviour that is disturbing to other guests, has aggressive behaviour, has destructive behaviour, is unable to remain quiet, or if our Terms & Conditions are not respected.
Daily Rate & Deposit
- Our daily rate is $50 per night/ per dog for additional cleaning services.
- On check-in, you will also be charged a deposit of $100 which will be used, if necessary, for any damage made in the room, property or to third parties. The amount will be returned on check-out if there are no damages reported.
Terms & Conditions
- When you check in, we will prepare a bed, towel and two bowls for your dog in your room.
- New places can feel strange, therefore it is not allowed to leave your dog alone in the room on its own.
- Dogs are unfortunately not allowed in the indoor restaurants in respect to other guests and Victorian health and safety laws. This rule does not apply for registered service dogs.
- Dogs are welcome in the hotel lobby area to get in and out of the hotel, as well as The Conservatory courtyard, when accompanied by their owner and on their leash.
- It is not allowed to use the bath/showers or the towels or sheets in the room for cleaning/drying your dog. We have a dog bath provided at the side footpath entrance of the hotel on Gellibrand Steet. A portable dryer is available for pets upon request at reception. Additional towels can also be requested at reception.
- Our hotel garden and courtyard is beautiful but not for dog waste. Kindly respect the hotel areas and carry dog waste outside the hotel premise. There are appropriate waste bins across the road in Princess Park.
- It is your responsibility to ensure the cleaning of solid and liquid waste. We expect you to be equipped with waste bags and other cleaning items.
- Damages caused by your dog will be your responsibility and a charge will be made for the replacement of the damaged object.
- Disturbances, such as barking, should be limited to ensure the tranquility of other guests.
- In case of unacceptable behaviour, the hotel reserves the right to cancel and discontinue the reservation.
Public Areas
For the safety of your dog, and others, always keep your dog on a leash in public areas, such as pedestrian zones and public buildings.

Dog owners are obliged by law to pick up their dog’s waste and dispose of it in a public litter bin. Failure to do so may incur a penalty fee.
