Where are you located and how do I get there?
The Queenscliff Hotel is located at 16 Gellibrand Street in Queenscliff, Victoria.
By car - from Melbourne
- Take the M1 / Princes Freeway / West Gate Freeway heading towards Geelong.
- Continue on the Bellarine Highway from Geelong toward Queenscliff.
- On entering Queenscliff, drive along Hesse Street (the main street) and follow the signage to the town centre.
- Then turn onto Gellibrand Street to arrive at The Queenscliff Hotel
The estimated driving time is about 1 h 20 min from Melbourne CBD.
By public transport
- From Melbourne, catch a V/Line train from Southern Cross (or another major station) to Geelong.
- In Geelong, transfer to a McHarry’s / regional bus service (Bus route 56) which goes from Geelong → Queenscliff.
- The 56 bus stops near Gellibrand Street; the nearest bus stop is Queenscliff Post Office / Hesse St, about a 3‑minute walk from Gellibrand Street.
By ferry - from Sorrento to Queenscliff
- Take the Searoad ferry from Sorrento and arrive at Queenscliff terminal (1 Wharf Street East) (~ 40 min journey)
- Follow foreshore/walkway into town (~900 m), then turn onto Gellibrand Street to arrive at The Queenscliff Hotel

By ferry - from Melbourne to Port Arlington
Ferry options from Melbourne to Port Arlington
- Port Phillip Ferries run a passenger ferry from Docklands (Melbourne) to Port Arlington Pier (~1h 10m journey)
- There are a few sailings per day (depending on weekday/weekend)
- Please note, you must pre‑book (at least 40 minutes before departure) or buy tickets in advance
- You can arrange a private transfer to or from the Port Arlington ferry, contact The Queenscliff Hotel Reception for further details

Do you offer parking?
Self-parking is available to access at all times and is located on either Gellibrand St adjacent to the park, or in Hesse St (subject to local signage). Please note, there are stairs via Gellibrand Street.
Accessibility access is via Hesse Street.
Is the hotel pet-friendly?
Absolutely! We welcome furry companions in the outdoor dining area of The Conservatory. For overnight stays, we offer two pet-friendly rooms: the Beach She Oak Suite and the Coconut Palm Suite —perfect for a longer visit with your pet. We also have an on-site dog wash station that is complimentary and can provide a bed, towel and two bowels for your pet to enjoy during your stay.

Is the hotel wheelchair accessible?
We offer an elevator for easy access to all levels, along with two accessible rooms: the Pencil Pine Suite, which is wheelchair accessible, and the Blue Jacaranda Suite, which is designed for guests with ambulant needs. To access the hotel via wheelchair, please use our driveway via Hesse Street.
Accommodation
What are your check-in and check-out times?
Hotel check in is at 3:00 PM and check out before 11:00 AM. If you require a late check out or early check-in, please discuss your requirements with Reception. Whilst our team will accommodate wherever possible, please note requests are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
To complete check in on arrival, you will need a valid photo ID and the credit card used to secure the booking reservation. We place a temporary pre-authorisation of $100 per night for incidentals upon check in.
The hotel provides luggage storage for hotel guests pre or post-stay at no extra charge. Our Reception is available to assist you.
Is there a place where we can store our luggage?
Absolutely! We’re happy to securely store your luggage on site, whether you arrive before check-in or wish to enjoy the area a little longer after check-out. Just speak with our team and we’ll take care of the rest.
Are there any age restrictions for booking a room?
Guests must be 18 years of age or older to book a room at The Queenscliff Hotel. Please note, our rooms cater for a maximum of two adults. If you require more than two adults in your room during your stay we recommend our adjoining rooms.
Do you have Wi-Fi available for guests?
Of course! All guests can enjoy complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi for the duration of their stay. Login details will be provided during check-in.
What amenities are included in the rooms?
When you stay at The Queenscliff Hotel, you can enjoy:

Mini bar
Your in-room minibar is filled with sweet and savoury snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and a few handy lifestyle items. The first round of non-alcoholic beverages is on us!
If you would like all or any part of your minibar removed from your room before you check-in please let us know.
Do you offer room service?
Unfortunately we do not offer room service.
However, we love to come together over food and conversation around here, both within the hotel and in our neighbourhood. The Conservatory is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Miettas is open for lunch Saturday & Sunday and dinner Friday & Saturday. There are also many other epicurean adventures to be had in our community.
Audio and Video Noise
For guest comfort and enjoyment, all audio including but not limited to music, movies, videos, calls and presentations must not be audible to any other guests and must only be played through headphones in all public spaces. Management reserves the right to request the immediate discontinuation of any audio.

Do you have an in-house restaurant or cafe?
Yes! The Queenscliff Hotel offers a range of dining experiences, from elegant fine dining at Miettas to relaxed bistro fare at The Conservatory. Enjoy drinks and casual bites at The Boat Bar, or grab coffee and fresh pastries to go from Cafe 1888. Whether you’re after a refined evening, a casual meal, or a quick takeaway, there’s something for every taste.

Is breakfast available to non-hotel guests?
Yes! Cafe 1888 is open for coffee and pastries from 7 am – 12:00 pm and The Conservatory is open for breakfast from 7 am – 10:30AM.
Can I make a dining reservation if I’m not staying at the hotel?
Absolutely! You’re more than welcome to dine with us, even if you’re not a hotel guest. To book a table, simply choose from the options below:
Please note: The Boat Bar and Cafe 1888 are open to walk-ins only and do not accept reservations.
Booking and Policies
What is your cancellation policy?
For any booking that requires payment on check-in to the hotel, booking must be cancelled by 3:00 PM, 7 days before arrival; otherwise, 100% fee will be charged. We are a small boutique hotel and would genuinely appreciate as much forewarning as possible, so that we can endeavour to re-book the room.
When booking a Miettas reservation, there will be a $50 pre-authorisation charge per person. No-shows and cancellations less than 48 hours in advance may be subject to a charge of $50.00 per person.

Party policy
The Queenscliff Hotel enforces a strict no party policy in all rooms and suites at all times. Room occupancy is limited to two adults, with group gatherings over this in rooms, suites and public spaces prohibited.
Failure to comply with this policy may result in a minimum fine of AUD$1,000 applied to your room account at the discretion of management. This policy is in place to protect the comfort, security and safety of all hotel guests and staff and for the protection of The Queenscliff Hotel property.
