A New Chapter Begins at The Queenscliff Hotel
First established in 1888, The Queenscliff Hotel stands as a heritage-listed icon in the heart of Queenscliff — the historic seaside town at the gateway to Port Phillip Bay. Renowned for its pristine beaches, tranquil Swan Bay waters, exceptional food and wine, and rich maritime heritage, Queenscliff has long been a beloved coastal destination, with The Queenscliff Hotel at its centre.
Just a short stroll from the ferry terminal and main street, the hotel has remained a cherished landmark for generations, shaped by the care of devoted custodians. Today, new owners Rob and Tammy Charter are honoured to continue this legacy, having undertaken a thoughtful 3-year restoration with deep respect for the building’s architectural and cultural significance.
A new chapter is now set to unfold, as The Queenscliff Hotel will offer a diverse collection of accommodation designed to suit every style of stay — from spacious two-bedroom adjoining suites to charming bay-view rooms. Each space has been thoughtfully curated with bespoke furnishings, premium amenities and historic charm. While every suite offers its own unique character, all share a commitment to elevated comfort and modern luxury.
The hotel’s culinary offering celebrates the richness and diversity of the Bellarine Peninsula. Guests will be invited to experience Italian fine dining at Miettas, led by Executive Chef Salvatore Giorgio, enjoy relaxed coastal fare in The Conservatory, or visit Cafe 1888 for light bites and expertly crafted coffee. The Boat Bar, a destination in its own right, will offer a sophisticated yet effortless setting to unwind, capturing the essence of coastal living.
